Cd release party this Wednesday at the Cactus Cafe

Welp, I just returned from the International Folk Alliance in Memphis, TN. It was a great time with lots of good people and a little bit of whiskey.

Being back in Austin feels good. Upon my return, I found a review of "The Jeopardy of Circumstance" in Austin Monthly Magazine (right next to a review of Willie Nelson's new record!). I have some fun stuff coming up, including my cd release party at the Cactus Cafe on Wednesday, February 27th. It's a split release with the fabulous Jenny Reynolds (www.jennyreynolds.com). Jenny start the night off at 8:00PM and I will hit the stage at 9:30PM.

In other news: I now have a blog on my website and myspace pages. The latest entry talks a bit about my Colorado and New Mexico tour with Danny Schmidt (www.dannyschmidt.com). I hope you'll give it a read if you have time.

"The Jeopardy of Circumstance" is officially released in the UK and has been getting all kinds of radio play, which just plain feels good. Rob Ellen of Medicine Music has chosen to take on the project, and is really making it all happen.

Hello hello. I'm happy to announce the unofficial release of the new record, which is available right now at http://cdbaby.com/cd/elkin2. I hope everyone will visit the page, take a listen, perhaps purchase it, and maybe even give it an honest review. I'd certainly appreciate any or all of those things. The record was chosen by cdbaby as one of the "Editor's picks", which is real fun.

I've been playing lots and lots of fun shows and festivals during this past month. Played for the South Padre International Music Festival and also the Rice Festival in Fischer, TX (where one of my most favorites, Guy Clark, played too). Have also had the opportunity to play the Cactus Cafe here in Austin a couple times and will be playing again this Friday and again in December. I sure do love that space....for those of you that don't know about this space, it's an incredible listening room (and us singer/songwriter types love a room full of people that listen).

More tour dates will be added to the website soon. This February will include a tour to Colorado, New Mexico and Nebraska. I'm happy to announce, I'll be touring with the amazing Danny Schmidt (www.dannyschmidt.com).

life is good. i just spent four weeks in austin and completed my new record "the jeopardy of circumstance" to be released fall 2007. i'm thankful for my experience in the studio with co-producer's colin brooks (www.bandofheathens.com) and mark addison (www.aeriestudios.com). they're incredibly talented and supportive, and their thoughtfulness and love shine through on this project.
